The aim of the project, Animator, is to facilitate an exchange of skills, experience and knowledge, between our students and practitioners. This will provide a bridge between university education and independent work – between theory and practice.
The project is led by the Instytut Kultury Polskiej at Warsaw University. Our partners are Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania, and three arts associations – Katedra Kultury in Warsaw, Spolek Richelieu in Prague and Laundry in the West Midlands, England.
The Animator project brings together these partners to participate in the following activities:
Programme of Culture Animation – supporting the development and design of culture animation curriculum with seminars, workshops, practical exchanges and dissemination of our experience through training materials, publications and web presence.
Incubator Projects – development of model projects with partners for students and cultural animators to undertake.
Map of Cultural Institutions / Initiatives – facilitation of research by partners alongside the development of this web site as an open framework for communication and as a networking tool between organisations, practitioners and students of cultural animation.
Fair of Cultural Initiatives – partners will participate in a final event in April 2008.
The project is supported by the Leonardo da Vinci Education and Culture programme, part of the European Commission Programme.
ANIMATOR project is born out of the previous project ANIMUS that included 9 partners from 5 European countries, led by the Instytut Kultury Polskiej at Warsaw University . This project laid the groundwork for a network of cooperation and exchanges – both in education and in practice – in cultural animation.
