We came to Gozdowo by the invitation of IKP as the representatives of VMU to contribute to the animation project, obtain practical skills and experience ourselves that cultural animation is. After some days observation we decided to take part in the project Stacja Gozdowo.
Our idea was to make an exhibition of old photographs of Gozdowo for rural community in a state of ruins of the old station. We asked children to walk around the village and collect the stories of old villagers about the old station and gather information about people who, both in the real and metaphorical sense, were related to the station: people who worked in it and who were gone away, i.e. left for other countries or cities or who were born in Gozdowo but now are gone for the eternity. Our role was to document the process and to prepare the exposition. After two days walking with children we continued the collection process by ourselves and arranged the exhibition in the place of ruins of the old station at the end of the project. The main part of the project was to get interaction with local people: to evoke their memory and involve it in creative practices, such like story telling, writing and drawing. The goal of the exhibition was to transform the place (the restitution of memory) and get some feedback from the people whom we were talking to. For this reason we decided to keep in touch with them by post, i.e. sending letters and photographs from Lithuania.
